Connect Puerto Rico, a Substack newsletter that launched in September 2024 and covers Puerto Rico’s clean energy transition, joined the LNA aiming to increase the publication’s subscriber base from 100 to 500 readers and survey for pain points to guide strategy. With more subscribers, Connect Puerto Rico hoped to be able to test content and revenue strategies.
As a result of mission refinement using LNA tools, Connect Puerto Rico reduced this goal to 200 subscribers to allow focus on holistic quality measures, including growth strategies and editorial operations to strengthen workflow.

I think the most (pleasantly) surprising element of the LNA for me as a solopreneur was how much support I received. Going from running things as one person to running things and having two fellows and a coach to work with was a big shift. And, as mentioned, having the ability to conduct research, field and analyze survey data is probably the most valuable thing to us as we chart our path and set new goals.

Upon completion of the Accelerator, Connect Puerto Rico developed a scalable news product by not only gaining subscribers, but also building an internal content library with evergreen explainers, templates and structured workflows. Additionally, Connect Puerto Rico developed outreach strategies to grow awareness of the newsletter, which led to features in The Latino Newsletter, the Speaking of Phenomenal Podcast and more.
